After looking over the entire collection on Fashionista.com (found here http://fashionista.com/2012/01/finally-jason-wu-for-target-the-complete-collection/) I definitely give it an A+. I love the simple and classic lines of the dresses. These pieces will be staples in consumers’ closets for years to come. They are perfectly suited for the target customer—practical yet chic, and definitely affordable! Here are my favorites: Will I see you at Target on the opening day?

Best:

Emma Stone—Emma absolutely rocks this Lanvin dress and Cartier clutch. For me, she tops the list. The eggplant and red colors in her dress perfectly accentuate Emma’s red hair. The plunging neckline is sexy yet sophisticated. The studded belt gives the whimsical fabric of the gown a modern touch. Overall, I think she looks like a Greek goddess. Perfection!

Reese Witherspoon—Reese looks gorgeous in this red Zac Posen gown while still maintaining her down-to-earth, girl-next-door look. I think red is a great color for her. It gives her a “wow” factor that draws the viewer’s attention to the beauty of the dress and eliminates the need for statement jewelry pieces or dramatic makeup. And who doesn’t spend countless hours trying to replicate her “just-out-of-bed” blonde waves? Reese is a 10.

Sofia Vergara—Ok, let’s be honest…who doesn’t love her? She’s beautiful, funny, talented, and not to mention my personal favorite character on the hit show Modern Family. Sofia has got it all going for her. But how about on the red carpet? I’d say yes. She knows how to accentuate her curves, and this Vera Wang dress does it perfectly. I have to say, I think her hair looks a little flat. A few loose waves might have complimented the texture of the dress. But, she’s still on my hot list. Way to go, Sofia!

Claire Danes—This black-and-white J. Mendel gown looks stunning on Claire. She looks classic and elegant. This Homeland star and winner for best actress in a television drama is on the way to the top.

Worst:

Angelina Jolie—I know this selection might be controversial. People StyleWatch and other fashion blogs picked Angie to be on their “Best Dressed” lists. I have to disagree. I think the contrast between the red and the cream is too harsh. It makes her look like a comic book character…maybe a vampire? I also have a personal issue with cream-colored silk. I think it’s difficult to work with and often looks cheap and somewhat prom-y. I hate to bash on Angelina because normally I consider her a style icon. But for the Golden Globes, I think she fell short.

Nicole Richie—Not a fan of this Julien Macdonald dress. For me it seems cheap and makes her look older than she actually is. I also think she looks like one of the Real Housewives of New York. She could have done so much better to highlight her awesome bod! Maybe next time, Nicole.

Kelly Osbourne—Although I love Zac Posen, this dress is not right for Kelly. The shape is too harsh. It makes her look like a warrior in battle gear. Kelly has come so far in rebuilding her image. I think she would have done better in something a little more classic.

That’s the score for the Golden Globes 2012. Can’t wait to see our celebs at the next award show!

Alessandra Ambrosio spreads her oh-so-cultural wings!

It’s that time of year again! On November 29th the Angels were on the prowl yet again for CBS’s annual Victoria Secret Fashion Show.

The world-renowned show is famous for its fabulously embellished lingerie, sought after super models and headliner artists that always promise a jaw-dropping show.

“Not gonna lie, the Victoria Secret Fashion Show is like a mini holiday right in between Thanksgiving and Christmas,” said Colleen Ciszek, freshman at UNC.

The show is unique in that it attracts audience members that range from high-end fashion designers to high school girls still sporting their training bras. For women the show highlights up and coming trends for exclusive undies. While the men enjoy the highlights of the gorgeous models.

This year’s models include Supermodel Candice Swanepoel who graced the staged with a stellar opening walk. Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge, Lindsey Ellingson and the rest of the angels follow her lead with fierce poses and struts.

To help keep things interesting for all the middle school boys, to accompany the victorian, under-the-sea & world cultures themes the angels also had a round of walks dressed as heroines from our favorite childhood comics and cartoons.

The runway look that caught the most eyes had to be the over-the-top lingerie set embroidered with swaroksi elements, iconic angel wings and the $2.5 million Fantasy Treasure Bra worn by Supermodel Miranda Kerr (who just had a baby…WHAT?).

Last year the show included performances from Katie Perry and Akon. This year’s artists didn’t disappoint with music from Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Maroon 5. The diverse group has been described as an “unforgettable show.”

So whether you’re an avid Victoria Secret follower or you are still in the closet about your little fetish– don’t fret. Tune into CBS to see a replay of the show or press play on your DVR because this year’s show promises to give you wings!

This rainy day didn’t keep Chelsea from looking chic for class. I couldn’t help but adore her simple, vintage-chic, laidback sense of style.  I loved her outfit complete with a lace top, skinny jeans, combat boots and a utility jacket. This season is all about the element of surprise. Shock your friends by creating combinations of the most random pieces in your closet. Innovation is the key to looking trendy without having to pay the price of a new wardrobe! Happy innovating.

This fluttery dress comes in a perfect fall color and would look great paired with solid tights.  Leather ankle boots would add a little edge to this girly look, but it would also work well with black flats.

I just bought a similar blouse from H&M and I’m absolutely in love with it.  It’s flowy and comfortable but still chic.  You can wear it loose like in the picture above, or tuck it into pants or a pencil skirt.  Pair it with a tighter bottom piece to balance out the look and give it more shape.

‘Scattered dot’ tights, kate spade new york, $32.00

Pencil skirt a little too drab?  Dotty tights will fix that.  Perhaps one of the subtlest ways to include the polka dot trend in your ensemble is by wearing spotted tights.  It’s an easy way to add a little personality to a more serious outfit.

Whether you’re sporting sparkly polish for a night out or your go to color is a neutral pink, nail polish is a cheap and easy way to constantly make a fashion statement.

This autumn’s going to class colors are a step below last year’s black with softer mauves and chocolate browns.

With the leaves all changing colors, you might be looking for something a little more colorful. Find an outlet with some warm spice hues.

But if you’re really looking to stand out, the best touch would have to be by adding a little shimmer to your nails. OPI is even switching things up with a line from Nicki Minaj.

If you aren’t savvy on sparkles you can always change your nails up a little bit by having four nails on your hand one color and then have having an accent color on the remaining finger. Our cover model even sported the switch up.

So don’t pansy out and turn to your all time favorite bubble gum pink. Experiment with different shades, after all change is only a swipe of nail polish away.
