Rachel Weeks, a graduate from Duke University, has created her own line of collegiate apparel for Unc and Duke. The School House Fashion brand will be available in Student Stores soon after her showcase in the Pit on April 24th at 5:30pm. (If you can’t make it then, School House Fashion is having a trunk show at Julian’s on May 9th. )
So what makes this clothing so glamorous and special? Well for one, it is not your average line of collegiate apparel. Weeks created a high-end line of apparel ranging from collared-shirts to dresses. The focus of her line is fit, which is a treat for us ladies because we all know that clothes intended for girls are usually way too big or way too small!
To find out more information about Rachel Weeks and her new line, you can check out her blog by clicking here. You won’t find any sneak-peeks, so you’ll just have to show your school spirit and attend the fashion show!

Sophomore Brittany Wolff is no stranger to style. She admits to having played dress up as a child and likes to pick different styles (think hippie or 80s) to imitate on a day-to-day basis. Wolff’s favorite designer is Betsy Johnson because of the vintage inspired pieces in her collections. Wolff’s most beloved articles of clothing, though, are pieces she made herself. “My favorite piece of clothing is a sundress that my mom and I made. It’s really colorful because the fabric is hand painted [with] water colors,” she said. Wolff starting sewing as a child and sold her own jewelry and purses in elementary school and junior high. She also hand-made all of her own prom dresses and sundresses with some help from her Mom, who taught Wolff to sew. “This summer I want to spend my free time trying to design some sundresses. I have already envisioned and revamped some vintage ones I found in thrift stores.” Needless to say, Wolff loves to wear dresses in the spring!
Sophomore business major Brittany Wolff smiles for the camera in wedges, a high-waisted skirt and belt. A flower clip pulls back her loose waves to complete her look. You can catch Wolff in an outfit like this any day--I have literally never seen her in sweats and a T-shirt.
Instead of throwing on a T-shirt and jeans, why not a cute cotton dress and bright patterned jacket? Victoria Cooper, a freshman at UNC, feels more confident and put together in this simple outfit than she would in a T-shirt and jeans. “It takes me longer to pick out a t-shirt from my drawer than it does to pick out this.”
Cooper’s favorite designers are Michael Kors and Betsey Johnson. Her favorite clothing item is a pair of 4 inch Michael Kors heels. She states that a close second is the spoon ring she always wears on her left thumb. Nonetheless, as soon as the summer weather rolls around, her favorite items to wear will be shorts, skirts and dresses, but without the tights!
